Hi Amanda,

I can't think of anything that would cause this problem - what you are doing is a pretty standard task in DSpace. Do the bitstream URLs in the user interface update once you have uploaded new files? If not, I'm wondering if this is a caching issue in your browser?

You could also try submitting this enquiry to the dspace-tech email list as there are a lot of people who read that and may have other ideas.

Good luck,

Stuart

Hi Stuart,

I am using Dspace1.5.0 with Tomcat 5.0.28 and Postgresql8.2.5

I am able to submit a new bitstream to a collection. But on updating(resubmitting) an existing bitstream and clicking on View/Open I get the following error:

Invalid Identifier

The identifier .pdf does not correspond to a valid
Bitstream in Dspace. This may be because of one of the following reasons:
* The URL of the current page is incorrect - if you followed a
link from outside of Dspace it may be mistyped or corrupt.
* You entered an invalid ID into a form - please try again.

I do not delete the license but delete the old bitstream and update with a new one.

Kindly help. Thanking you in anticipation.

Yes, I think there is not an xmlui version of the Minho stats module. If you can wait for 1.6, then there should be a new stats module integrated with that.

You'll need to write a different type of 'report' from the aggregated '.dat' files. See [dspace-src]/dspace-api/src/main/java/org/dspace/app/statistics/ReportGenerator.java for an example which shows how the standard report is written.

Alternatively you may wish to try one of the third-party statistics modules such as the Minho stats (http://wiki.dspace.org/StatisticsAddOn) as it might be able to do this for you.

Thanks again. All got solved. However our instituition needs to have something like top 10 download to be displayed in our dspace home page, and this stats in fact doesnt help at all. So do you have any suggestions about how to implement this?
